Strawberry Fields
A 190g complete individual
The United Kingdom's latest meteorite find.
The provisionally named Strawberry Fields
meteorite is my latest discovery in the UK, found in Perthshire,
Scotland in 2011.
Named after the huge fruit growing industry in the area, I
chanced upon these meteorites while hunting for remnants of the
Perth (1830) fall, a few miles South of this strewnfield.
So far, I've found 60+ meteorites as small fragments and
inviduals in the 1g to 30g weight range, and one larger mass of
190g.
Classified as an H5, the search for more pieces continues.
Straight out of the ground, muddy meteorites from my last visit
to the strewnfield.
